Shotgun

Steel targets, fast reloads and some of the most spectacular courses in practical shooting.

In short

Shotgun has a single power factor and every target scores Major, so anyone can be competitive with ordinary 12 gauge ammunition.

Choke and ammunition, from birdshot to slugs, depend on the course: the spread has to suit the distance. Every division limits the rounds loaded at the start; after the start signal, tubes may be reloaded without limit.

  • Start position

Usually with the shotgun in one hand and the butt touching the hip.

  • Standard

The most popular division in 2017: iron sights, internal tube, 9 rounds at most at the start.

  • Factory guns

Standard and Standard Manual require guns made in at least 500 units.

Everyone shoots the same courses; standings are worked out per division. Pick a division to see its rules.
